Working Principle

How It Works

A PAVA amplifier rack receives input from the fire alarm panel via a relay interface. On alarm activation, it immediately mutes all background music and broadcasts pre-recorded voice evacuation messages zone-by-zone through ceiling and wall-mounted speakers. An operator at the fire control centre can override at any time with a live announcement using a priority microphone. Battery-backed amplifier racks ensure the entire system operates even during total building power failure.

Keep It Ready

Maintenance & AMC Tips

1

Test all pre-recorded messages and zone routing every 6 months

2

Measure speaker output levels with a sound level meter annually

3

Test fire alarm panel integration and auto-activation relay annually

4

Inspect amplifier rack connections and battery health 6-monthly

5

Verify priority override microphone and feedback squelch function

Legal & Compliance Requirement

High-rise buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, and airports require voice evacuation systems under EN 54-16, NBC 2016, and local fire authority guidelines. Traditional bells create panic; a calm, clear voice message directing specific zones to specific exits dramatically reduces evacuation time and prevents crowd crush at single exit points.
