Fire Suppression System (Clean Agent)

FM-200, Novec 1230, and CO2-based clean agent suppression systems that extinguish fires within seconds without leaving residue or damaging sensitive equipment. Ideal for areas where water-based systems would cause more harm than the fire itself.

Discharge Time

< 10 seconds (FM-200 / Novec)

Design Concentration

7–9% FM-200 / 5.8–8% Novec

Residue

Zero — safe for electronics

Working Principle

How It Works

A network of detector heads continuously monitors the protected enclosure. On detection, the system enters a pre-discharge countdown (typically 30–60 seconds for occupant evacuation), then releases gaseous agent from pressurised cylinders through ceiling nozzles to flood the room uniformly. FM-200 and Novec 1230 extinguish fire by heat absorption; CO₂ extinguishes by oxygen displacement. The agent disperses without leaving any residue or moisture, fully protecting sensitive electronics and documents.

Maintenance & AMC Tips

1

6-Monthly weight check of all cylinders (tolerance ±5%)

2

Annual inspection of nozzles, pipework, and enclosure integrity

3

Test detection and control panel with simulated alarm annually

4

Verify room enclosure integrity (gas retention test) every 5 years

5

Service automatic door releases and abort switches annually

Legal & Compliance Requirement

Server rooms, UPS rooms, control panels, and data centres cannot be protected by water or dry powder systems without destroying the very equipment being protected. NFPA 2001, IS:15493, and insurance underwriting standards for IT and data infrastructure require clean agent suppression as the only approved solution for these environments.
